Description
Survive, Thrive, Transform: These words form the three pillars of the UN Secretary General’s Global Strategy for the health of Women, Children and Adolescents towards 2030 and the SDGs.
The School has a strong track record of research on survival - from descriptive epidemiology to discovery science to delivery of care, from RCTs to complex evaluation. But what about beyond survival to thriving? And further beyond to transform which involves wider change in education, water and sanitation, social norms such as addressing violence against women and children? What are the big research and measurement questions for women, children and adolescents in the SDG era? How can we operationalise strengths within the MARCH Centre to produce more innovative, high impact research across faculties and topic areas and disciplines? Where are the gaps and opportunities? What can we learn from responses to Ebola and Zika?
- Join us for a full day of interactive and dynamic sessions including:
- Opening plenary with keynote speaker, and short provocative “thought piece” talks;
- Group sessions for Adolescents (A), Birth (B) and Child (C) themes;
- Focus on early career researchers;
- Perspectives from the main research funders
MARCH retreat is a biannual event and this is the second one, providing a perfect networking opportunity to meet other colleagues and funders, stimulate research ideas and creating better links for your research to policy change. For more details, visit our website.
